Golden West Cafe
REFRESHING A BALTIMORE CLASSIC
Located on “The Ave” in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore, Golden West Cafe offers New Mexican dishes, eclectic comfort grub, and unpretentious vegan food.
I was asked to create a new wordmark to be applied to tee shirts and coffee mugs. The goal was to channel a funky, fun, and playful script influenced by 1950s-1970s lettering and southwest vibes.
The design also incorporated the restaurant’s hashtag and motto of “Something For Everyone”.
Project Impact
REACHED 10K INSTAGRAM FOLLOWERS
The new merchandise had a significant impact on social media. Customers shared in-person experiences while dining, bought merchandise, and shared their morning cup of coffee with their own following.
As a result of the brand refresh, Golden West Cafe was able to surpass 10,000 followers on Instagram by leveraging their existing customers and loyal fans.
